Crap. That is not what we were hoping for.
If it goes to "stereo" when nothing's playing, it means they drop the connection. Yea, it may be fast to reestablish with your equipment, but, not with everyone's. Hence the "silent stream bug". Ugh.

That's, um....interesting. On so many levels. Vladd will know what I'm thinking here but those Corel guys/gals....gotta hand it to them. That rocks!

Thanks, that's what i've been expecting

FYI:Today i gave it a go with Corel and MPC-HC with analog outputs on my hybrid system over Seven64. (plus my ex Creative SB Xi-Fi with it's new seven64 drivers)

I decoded original BD thd to pcm without Reclock on winDVD and with Reclock on MPC-HC (via ffdshow) and got bitperfect streaming (WASAPI exclusive)

TMT? forget it....

I was gonna wait until this was confirmed, but either that puts a hole in the theory that players need to update specifically for every PAP card (thus Arcsoft and Cybrerlink are being overly "protective"), or Corel is the James Dean of commercial players.

Ummm, let's just say I don't want to really discuss it right now.
Corel is doing something, um, "different" than the other guys.

Well in any case, I guess if TMT3 doesn't work fully like it does with the 5000 cards, it's back to WinDVD for me. It had some annoying little quirks though, like the freaking mouse cursor appearing every once in a while especially on chapter breaks.

I gotta admit I've not used WinDVD much since I bought it. When District 9 came out I had to play it on WinDVD cause PDVD and TMT both had issues. That's why I have it...for that very reason. I suspect PDVD will be first to get updated for it. TMT won't be far behind. Both are partnered with nVidia for the 3D stuff afaik, so, I'm sure bitstreaming can't be all that far off. Well, PDVD maybe September?

Actually, it just occurred to me that if he's bitstreaming, it's going to have to reinitialize each time either way.

MATA7: I guess the simple test is can you hear Windows sounds, e.g. the Windows startup tones. Thanks

He said "when nothing's playing". I take that to mean it drops the connection when he's not playing any audio.

Never mind, I just tried the latest drivers on my Gigabyte 9400m motherboard and they work!

Windows sounds still don't work for whatever reason, but if I pause PCM audio and resume, there's no delay.

Unfortunately, bitstreaming is as unstable as ever, and even when working, takes three times as long to initialize with my amp (H/K AVR 254) as the Realtek ATI driver took.

Windows sounds work, but they're cut off. It's the silent stream bug and it's the same with my 9200m GS. What version of the driver do you have though? Cause with my 9200 1.0.9.0 is working fine but 1.0.15.0 doesn't send audio to anything but the R and L channel, in the 7.1 configuration.

Crap, I just remembered that WinDVD doesn't allow ReClock in the chain. Hopefully TMT3 won't muck the decoded audio with this card. I'll get it later today. I'm also going to try and fit an Accelero S1 later on. I got the Palit with the (presumably) crappy cooler.

That's why we think they're doing something a bit "different" than PDVD and TMT. They don't allow anything to enter their chain. GraphStudio wasn't able to attach to their graph, either. But I think this is what allows them to get away with their "own" implementation of "PAP".
