Anybody else out there had problems with Nvidia tech support?

I bought a copy of NVDVD, and got a weird error when I tried to play a DVD:

NvDvd.dll: An unexpected error has occured in file NvDvdserver.cpp at line 978

three weeks after submitting a support request with Nvidia I get the following:

"This error means either DX or the audio/video you are using is not DVD compatible.
"

I'm running a system with an Nvidia Nforce2 mother board, using the onboard sound, and an Saphire Radeon 9600. The version of DirectX I'm using it the latest one.

When I posted the error to the AVS Forum , someone responded telling me that all I needed to do was uninstall, clear out the registry and reinstall. Of course you can't just reinstall NVDVD, you need to re-activate it, with Nvidia's permission. Apparently, I don't have permission, as the bug has been labeled resolved.

I'm definitely going to think twice before buying another Nvidia product.
