As the title states...is it enough to drive the subs? Each channel per sub will be going into a 10 cubic feet sealed enclosure.

It will drive them but not to their limits. You will clip the amp depending how hot you run the bass.

If you use the NX6000 on those, you would get the same performance from a pair of UM-18's for $300/each.

What do you guys suggest? I'm asking because I have an unused NX6000 that I thought would pair with it.

To really push that 24, you need to look into one of the clone amps like a Sanway. Or possibly the Speakerpower 6k

In the end, is it worth it to go the diy route? Off the top of my head, each 24 is around $1200. The Speakerpower 6k is around $1500, add in another $500 + shipping for a flat pack from DIYSG. That puts it in the neighborhood of a JTR 4000ulf...

Well, the savings is picking up the wood and cutting it yourself, Cabs would cost much less. You don't need a speakerpower 6k to power the 24. It is rated for 2k watts. If you can get it with DVC 4 ohm coils you can run each channel of the nx6000 into each coil for plenty of power. Of course if you make the box too small more power is required but now you are heating things up inside. If you want a warranty better stick to what they are rated for. I would have done that my my drivers but they are DVC 2 ohm and the 6k wants 4 ohms per channel.

Your numbers are off a bit. If you can wrangle it close enough the drivers are on sale foe 900$ each at the moment. A clone amp will set you back another 900$ or so and the boxes are not that hard to build from scratch so 100$ in wood could do both boxes add a few terminals and some wire and you are under 3k and will crush anything remotely close in price.

Where are you seeing it for $900 each?

As a secondary though if you are in MN or at least close i have a box for a 24 i will give you. Otherwise it is going in to a fire or dumpster soon as i will not be able to use mine for a while and need the space.
I wish I was closer to you but I am on the West coast. In the end I'll probably build the cabs. It's just the clean up sucks.

(47) by BlkSC [10-22-2019] | last by thisgsx [Yesterday]

You nedd to drive to where Nick could do a 10 hr drive to meet him and find a few others that could bring the total to like 8 drivers.
Yeah I saw that post. I hope Nick has something up his sleeves for those of us who are not the area.

Yes, it is worth while going DIY.

To put things in perspective:

JTR 4000 = $3700

(2) SI-24s = $1700-1800 (on sale this coming weekend)
Clone FP14k = $900
Cabinet building costs = ~$200-$300
Total = $2800-$3000

Dual SI-24s will destroy a JTR4000 and still save you almost $1k.

Does anybody have the cea burst numbers and or graphs for the si 24ht. I was considering dual sealed or single ported and comparing to a couple other options that won’t need much diy work since it’s the colder time of the year. Just wanted to know how much better or worse these 2 routes would be. I tried to get on data bass but for some reason can’t load any page. I remembered seeing a sealed maybe even dual sealed measurement before along with a large single ported model. Just wish I could load the page and make my decision. Mostly worried about the mid bass peak levels.

It hits 129-130 dB in the mid bass.

So would dual Eminence 21" subs which are $750 each delivered and the 6000 amp would drive them fine in comparison to the JTR which hits 123db at 25hz. A single Eminence 21" is about that.

The si at DB hit much louder than that graph and it a much larger cab. Even if the so 6000 can produce 6k it is only 4.5 dB more and still more than that graph. That SI 24 hitting what it did in a very large enclosure was impressive, and I am talking the mid Bass.

I don’t Understand, what does this have to do with the 24?
