The last few nights in New York off the WTC/ESB antennas, has anyone noticed there has not been any OTA for WPIX or NBC. Does anyone know what the story is, or this is still part of the testing phase?

Up though last week, WNBC-DT had been operating 8-11 mon-thurs and 8-12:30 on fri. Last Sunday(Easter), WNBC-DT broadcast "Faces of Jesus" on WNBC-DT fomr 8:00AM - 12:00 Noon. Since then, I haven't seen them up.

WPIX-DT had been following a similiar schedule and converting images to the 14x9 format (zooming and clipping the top&botton)


If I were to guess, I'd say that there is some tower work going on, possibly not for them but for WWOR or another tower tenant.

WNBC-DT's only consistently scheduled HDTV broadcast in the New York area is the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday nights.


I have never come across an HDTV program on WPIX-DT. They sometimes broadcast during the evening hours in standard definition and on those nights they turn off the digital signal at 11:00 P.M.
