Folks

this may be off topic, but I recall a thread where someone asked the question, "How do I record/capture the windows desktop to video?". However, I can't seem to find it.

Can anyone recall this, or shed any light on the matter.

In summary, for a project I need to record the behaviour of an application running on my PC. I'd like to record this in a format that can then be dumped out to video, and/or as a windows media file.

At the moment I can only think of hooking a camcorder to my capture card, and then pointing it at the PC monitor, running up the up, and then capturing what's happening on the screen! The result will no doubt be a mess as I will get flicker off the monitor.

Are there any software solutions which can capture the screen continuously to an AVI or MPEG format? I know I could use Screencam, but I really need something to which I can edit in Premiere, so I can then stitch in a voice over.

Apologies if this is off topic, but I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
