"Mayhem" was Joe Bob's first movie last night. I had seen it before but liked it enough to watch again. It's a Joe Lynch film staring Steve Yeun and Samara Weaving. It's corporate horror/satire about a company being locked down for a quarantine after a virus hits it (do much for Joe Bob not dealing with the pandemic). What I didn't know is Shudder has a version of the movie with commentary from Lynch and Yeun. So I'll watch it a third time. :D The second feature was "Tetsuo: The Iron Man" which I didn't last through.

Watched two movies today: The Vast of Night and Cam.

Liked both. The Vast of Night is a slow paced movie involving very few people in a small town. It involves aliens but it is very subdued. Kind of reminded me of Signs in a way. Cam is a thriller that had me pretty hooked throughout. Both worth a watch.

I re-watched a couple of movies, Chernobyl Diaries and IT.

Chernobyl Diaries, while predictable still managed to hold my interest and I enjoyed it even though its not a great movie.

IT is wonderful movie, really done well, great actor playing the clown, great actress playing the girl, and overall the whole movie just really does it for me. For me to like a movie like this its really gotta be good as I am not a kid person and usually do not like any movie that focuses on kids, although at least it wasnt real young kids.

I know Stephen King was not happy with a lot of things in The Shining, was he pleased the way IT turned out?

Gave Becky a spin last night. Not bad at all, surprisingly plenty of blood. Seems that's rare these days in movies. Damn shame what they did to that dog. Trailers for the move seem to give a lot away so be warned.

It's good to be Joe Bob.

Darcy (Diana Prince) has here own web site KinkyHorror.com (don't worry it's not porn) and she has some interesting audio interviews including a bar chat with Joe Bob. Check it out. :D

I finished all episodes of "Dark/Web" (Amazon) season one last night. Indeed it is well worth a watch. A couple episodes are over an hour long but most around half hour.

Color Out of Space Request

I have a favor to ask of any of you guys that have a copy of the Nicolas Cage movie, Color out of Space. We just watched it over this weekend, and there was a scene that had an amazing example of imaging from a 5.1 soundtrack. I'd like to pinpoint this for a buddy, but since it was a rental, I've already returned it.

If anyone can give me a timestamp for the scene where:
the hydrologist's radio suddenly turns on right after his car starts up on his own.
I would greatly appreciate it. Both my wife and I could have sworn that it came from front wide speakers, but we don't even have them hooked up!

Thanks for any help,

Scott

"Color Out of Space" was acquired by Shudder as an exclusive so I'll be watching it there. For tonight I have the "The Hunt" on BD. Apparently no UHD BD was released.

I've been watching "Beat" on Amazon which is a German TV series and excellent. It's about a guy who runs parties at a night club and drafted by a intelligence agency to help them follow some criminals. Plenty of gore for the fans here. Available in 4K both either subtitled or dubbed.

Most of the Blumhouse titles, not released directly through Universal theatrical releases never have. Genre titles just don't get the box office to make UHD worthwhile, it's just the evolution of the it's released on DVD but not on Blu-ray titles. And that wasn't that many years ago.

If you've never seen 'Sinister' throw it into your pile for October now.
This one slipped past me. A LOT slips past me these days, sadly, but how do you not watch a horror with Ethan Hawke in the lead??? Anyway, watched it over this past weekend, and it is definitely an effective creeper. Every time I watch movies like this, I am always yelling in my head, "WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TURN ON THE DAMN LIGHTS!" It's like broad ass daylight outside, and this house looks like Dracula's castle at 2 am. Anyway, definitely a must watch for genre fans.

And thanks darthsg for the soundtrack shout out. Yes! Definitely served to make the movie much better.

Agreed on your assessment. My wife is very quick to point out the "mood" lighting and how ridiculous it is that nobody will just turn on the damn lights. I do my best to block it out of my mind. LOL

But Sinister is legit. Love that flick. Part two is solid, but not nearly as visceral IMO.

Yeah, Scott Derrickson is a fantastic horror director. I can't understand why Deliver Us From Evil gets no love. It creeps me out.

Sinister I liked when I thought the perp was some real person, thinking about some old serial killer having gotten in and messing with them...
