So I figured out the TV I was going to get, but decided to go down to a 46" due to only have 6 feet of viewing distance when I thought I had about 10' (whoops).

So I did my google search for the best price.. and the ln46a750 is $5 more than the ln52a750. Why??? Aren't they the exact same tv sans the tv size? Am I missing something completely obvious here?

I really want the 46", but I was really expecting a significant (300+) savings in price going down from a 52"

Thanks

the A750's are last year's models and as such are in closeout mode and prices will vary according to limited supply/demand.

if you are set on the samsung and directing to the 750 you should consider and research the B750 series. if you look in the 'Owner's Thread' here you will find that many find this set to be laudible, as does cnet reviews.

for samsung models with A are last year's sets; models with B are this year's.

Yes I realize that. I was looking at the B750s, but I'm trying to save some coin. I know the A750s are the closeout models, but it doesn't make much sense to me that you can get the 52" model of the same tv for less than the 46". I want the 46", but I can't justify paying more for less.

I would definitely get the 52". Especially if it's cheaper. That's a no-brainer.

52" @ 6' IS big but if you're watching mostly/only HD content you should be fine.

BTW, THX recommends a 36 degree viewing angle. You'd have 34.9 degrees. So THX would have you sitting 5.8' away.

Check out the VIEWING DISTANCE CALCULATOR .

then you should consider LN46B750 - with 240Hz auto motion plus, 2ms response time and etc. etc. Definitely higher specs compare to LN46A750 or LN52A750. and the best part is, LN46B750 still cheapest among all
