Has anyone had their 940e professionally calibrated? Best Buy wants $300 to calibrate it. I was wondering if anybody would be willing to share their settings if they have.
10k's settings for the Z9D have gotten pretty good responses from a lot of 940E owners (including myself):

Gadgtfreak had similar settings here:

And don't forget about RTings calibration here:

I have the Harmony Touch and I forever do changes via My Harmony (3 years). Last Friday I decided to do another change and I think it updated and after this I would be the same as you. gets to about 25% sync and it stays they.
After this I download the latest My Harmony program and it did the same. No Good. I did some reading and I read to try different computers so I installed to use a 64 bit machine and the Harmony remote was ok after this but still refuses to sync to the 32 bit machine.
Fascinating (and frustrating)....

Chad B is doing mine on 9/13. Do not, and I repeat do not, use Best Buy.

Man, Maryland vs Texas in 4K is WOW on this 75"... Future of football.
Can i ask how you were able to watch 4k football????? Thought it was broadcast on ESPN??? I'm very interested in how you got that content??

I'm fed up with TimeWarner Spectrum in the Los Angeles area. The box I have can only output in 1080i. Awful.

Thank you

Freddie

Directv has a channel for live sports. Not much one because the facilities have to be in place, but they are doing some college games this year. Fox Sports 1 was the feed for the 4K.

Yeah, it sucks. Out for the year with a long recovery time. Might be his last game for FSU depending on other QB's and recruits. At least we have a good Defense to help cover the freshman QB that will be playing.

What are you guys setting your Xbox video output at? Since we get lower lag from 4K sources, do you set your Xbox to upscale to 4K and then send to TV or AVR?

The audio just stop working on my Netflix and Amazon Prime apps from the tv to my sonos system. The sound works on the tv but who wants to do that. All other apps are working. Anyone else have that problem?

Also the Amazon Prime app has been crazy buggy in general for me. Anyone else?

Hello, I see that you are possibly a redskins fan. I am hoping football and hockey looks good on this TV. Have you seen any football games yet? How is the motion aspect of the TV when watching football?
Redskins? Holy hell! ;)

Football looks great to me.

So kinda feel like an idiot but if anyone else comes across this problem, in the settings, sound, digital audio out, PCM. This works but Amazon Prime video is still crap.

Just starting my search

I've been reading alot of info on this thread with great interest as I'm close to pulling the trigger on the 940E. I too went to Best Buy and spent an hour playing with different settings on this TV and couldn't get any sports programming to look very good. In fact, much cheaper TVs looked much better. This is my main concern as we will watch about 95% of our programming as std HiDef and not 4k source material. We use DirecTV.

The main issue I had was a lot of artifacts around details like faces, names on jerseys, etc and the detail just wasn't there. I tried to get them to force 720p resolution from the DirecTV box but every time we tried, it would force to 1080p and I know that the material wasn't 1080P - most likely 1080i which didn't help I would think. However, again, many of the other TVs looked much sharper with less artifacts. Supposedly the feed was going through an Atlona matrix so they were all getting the same source. I also noticed the Z9 had the same issue.

I was excited about the 940E due to the X1 extreme chip and the reviews saying the upscaling was very good but I didn't see that for myself at Best Buy. Again, I tried a bunch of different settings but really just randomly adjusted things as I don't know what most of the settings or their names mean (thanks Sony marketing!).

I was particularly interested in hearing your thoughts and experience @dgfla since it looks like you've had the TV for about a month and had the same experience I did at Best Buy but would love to hear from anyone else with specific suggestions for maximizing DirecTV standard HiDef on this TV.

Any thoughts, advice, recommendations, etc? Thanks in advance!

But need to clear one last thing up and was looking for the forum members help.
Plan is to upgrade from 65" Pani VT60 to 940E as I think 75" will really enhance my HT experience. This 4K model and frankly many look fantastic with 4 K content and I am sure this will be an very obvious upgrade over the VT60.

What I am concerned about is watching 1080i xfinity content i.e. ESPN, Football, etc...
When I was at BB today I had them switch to their DTV feed and it really looked quite lame!.
Maybe it was just their feed and the fact that it probably has many splitters connected to feed all the TV's.

So can I get some feedback on your experience with non 4k content?
thanks in advance..

also any suggestions on blu ray players would be cool.

A little off topic, but a cool, inexpensive remote. $30, 8 device, learning, 12 macro's. Works like a charm.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00385XUG0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That's the remote I use. Was able to replace the remote that came with the 940e, my soundbar remote, and my directv remote. My soundbar doesn't have any codes, so used the learning feature. My directv receiver is in a closet, so I had to change it to ir mode, and then use the ir blaster from the tv. It's a thing of beauty.
