I am thinking of picking up one of these for my parents and wanted to know what you guys thought. I can't find much in the way of reviews on this model. I am looking for a 1080P 120hz LED that has nice fluid motion for sports. My parents don't give a crap about 3d or internet apps so the only thing we are concerned about is picture and sound.42" is the biggest they can put in their enclosure. How does this model compare to others that are out there right now? I can pick this up for $710 today. Are there any other models similarly priced that have better image quality? Anyone know how this compares to the Panasonic VIERA TC-L42E50?
I think picture is magic but have not compared it much with other sets. I saw picture on display in retailer and is excellent.
It is 2D. I didn't want 3D either. but the set is so good that when people are in focus in the foreground the picture appears to have depth.
I have not seen that on an LCD TV before but is just due to the background being out of focus slightly.
Is OK for sports. I watch AFL all of the time and very happy. Seems best with Tru Motion off.
Sound is just OK. If you are like me and used to bookshelf speaker sound as I am i have a pair of small active speakers connected.
Digital Optical connection is the only sound out connection so I have optical cable connected to a DAC
to connect to the analog speakers.
Difficult to compare other models unless you compare them running in the shop side by side and make your own decision.
The PVR hijacks whole portable hard disk so if you don't have a spare one to dedicate to the TV you won't use it.
However it will replay MKV, MP4, VOB and AVI and others from a normally formatted portable hard disk.
This thread will in time show user best settings.
There are a lot of different picture modes and adjustments available.
