The wife is a proponent of white vinegar and water. Myself I like the blue monster spray. Works extremely well with my phone and PC monitor too. On sale right now > Monster 126634-00 1 Large Bottle 1 Microfiber Cloth TV Clean Kit

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Monster-126634-00-1-Large-Bottle-1-Microfiber-Cloth-TV-Clean-Kit/10242802 Used only as necessary, a bottle should last well over a year. Good price to easily maintain a clean screen.
Awesome thanks.

I did take a microfiber cloth to it and surprisingly it sucked up all the finger print residue. There were a couple of tiny dots that didn't come off with a gentle wipe and I didn't want to press into the screen so I left it alone. Maybe if I see this stuff I'll give it a try but unless your nose is to the screen you can't see it. The finger prints were definitely visible and I'm much happier that they're gone.

Best regards,
M

Yes! We love ours. Takes a 1080i STB signal and converts it to 1080p. Plus enhances the detail of cable and network television. I was highly skeptical myself. But Ahro here in this thread convinced me to give it a try and am so glad I did. We leave it on all the time. Amazon has a great return policy should you decide you actually don't like it. (but you will!)

Is this just a video processor? Would it be placed last in the video chain just before the TV (OCB in our case)? I am thinking of getting a dedicated BR player like the Oppo 103D but don't know if I should wait to the 4K players are released at the end of the year.

Also, what is the name of the i mini scan? I searched for it in Amazon but didn't find it.

Is buying the I mini scan worth honestly buying. I'm thinking about buying one..
It is a great little product, Once I found that my Onkyo scaled from 1080i to 1080p I let the HU9000 do the rest, I put the mini on my 48h6350 in the bedroom and it allows it to look awesome..

Thanks man, I was searching for imini scan hahaha no wonder I kept getting Apple products LOL

Damn, $190 seems like a bargain if it does everything you guys claim it does. Might have to give it a shot.

I guess if I add the iScan Mini to the video chain, I should definitely see a huge improvement in IQ because I always keep all image processing features on the TV to OFF.

What enhancements does it do for 4k, programming and Blu-ray movies.

Shopping Guru][/U]As for my PQ imprsssions, First this TV must be calibrated. its great until you watch something with a lot of dark scenes. The backlight goes insane. There are like 4 horizontal backlight bands and it can't decide or keep up with what should turn on and off. So it looks like it is flickering. Some scenes get so dark that the TV turns the backlight off completely. To me this is an epic fail and i did not notice in store despite all my testing. On TV shows via my Tivo the blacks are not inky.[/QUTE]

Don't know that I would say "huge"; but I feel that the image improvement is significant.

Don't know what you mean by keeping all image processing features on the TV to Off. However, the iScan Mini has detail and edge enhancement features. Edge enhancement is basically a replacement for your TV's sharpness (which could be at "0"). Detail enhancement is not available on the Samsung and is the feature on the Mini that I find most useful (in fact I would buy it if this were the only feature available).

Mini also has noise enhancement features that are probably better than those on the Samsung; although, if you are watching good sources, I think you are better off without using any of either.

You may or may not use the de-interlacing feature (1080i to 1080P). Either the mini or the Samsung do an excellent job. You won't find any professional source that says the Samsung needs help in this area.

For standard TV (60fps) you probably won't want the mini to output anything above 1080P (it drops down to 4:2:0 color for 4K). In that case the Samsung will finish the scaling/upconversion to take it to 2160P/4K. On auto, if you are watching a Blu-ray (24fps), the Samsung will "request" and the mini will output 4K/24 4:4:4. You could intercede and have the mini output 1080P; however, I find the somewhat sharper upconversion of the mini to be preferred in this scenario.

AMP Motion issue test.
Check the Vimeo presentation of `Earth' - first viewing, motion is a blur. Turn Amp to Clear, then Off - blur gone!

88" - Check the Vimeo presentation of `Samsung SUHD TV at Gitex' - damm, if I'd only had the $s - would look great in the basement system!

Note: By getting the Service Menu White Balance to flatline the 30 and 100% in the 10 Point Grayscale, this corrects all the Modes and Inputs. (Even Dynamic doesn't look so over hot now.)

Thanks as always. Have you searched 4k 2015 in vimeo and seen the Rio timelapse and the 10k video. They really are some damn good viewing.

Spent 3 hours on Vimeo tonight - there's some really fantastic looking videos to look at. Really happy with the latest calibration. Unfortunately, some of the settings I can't show, and they did make an improvement in the over all PQ.
Gave up trying to use the 21 Point AutoCal available to me with the XE-3D. The AutoCal and 9000 just just didn't seem to want to agree.
This time I Manually utilized the XE-3D to give not only the Patterns, but to also use the DDC controller to flatten the 5, 15, 25 and 35% areas, which in turn flattened the 45% to 95% at the same time as I was adjusting the 10 to 100 settings Points. Still looks great with the above settings but the DDC just gave the 9000 a little more edge.
Watched the Vimeo OLED and SUHD videos, and did not find the 9000 lacking! Happier still as the night time Panel is getting Darker.

I was going to wait for 4k blu-ray but I decided I wanted a better experience than my very good Pioneer BDP-450 so I decided to buy a Pioneer BDP LX58, all I can say is wow, it is capable of 4k 4:4:4. @60fps (although 24fps is fine) get the right cable let the player do the scaling and chroma up sampling, set the samsung to UHD color with led clear motion on and away you go. I havnt seen any 4k content whether on the UHD pack or Netflix that is better than the blu ray in this set up. It will certainly tide me over till 4k blu ray is attainable and affordable.
P.s. I have calibrated this set up to BT1886 gamma with a peak output of 120cmd.
