Sharp AQUOS 70" 1080P LED 240Hz 3D Smart HDTV - LC70SQ15U

The LC-70SQ15U features Sharp’s exclusive Quattron and Revelation technologies to deliver the highest resolution available on a Full HD TV. It has 10 million more subpixels than conventional Full HD TVs - for more detail, depth and color. Revelation technology also includes a built-in upscaler, making everything you watch sharper and more vivid. The LC-70SQ15U is future ready, with the ability to play 4K content. In fact, it is the only HDTV to accept a 4K signal. 240Hz refresh rate and 8 million : 1 dynamic contrast ratio give you precision clarity during fast-motion scenes. The new 2014 SmartCentral™ smart TV platform gives you all the best apps, lets you search across all your content sources, get recommendations, and easily navigate from a single remote control or your smart mobile device. No more switching TV inputs or launching individual apps to find the shows you want to watch.

Features:

Picture Quality

Revelation™ Technology

Revelation technology enhances picture quality so Q+ TVs can deliver higher resolution. By using 10 million more subpixels than Full HD, Q+ shows images in epic levels of detail and clarity. Revelation technology also includes a built-in upscaler, which takes all of your content and optimizes it for the higher resolution screen, so that everything you watch is sharper and more vivid. It also allows you to be future ready. Q+ can play 4K content via HDMI input. In fact, it is the only HDTV to accept a 4K signal

Quattron™

Exclusive Sharp Quattron technology provides a clearer, richer picture, and noticeably more detail, color and brightness by adding 2 million sub-pixels to the standard screen. Sharp’s proprietary Quattron technology incorporates a fourth yellow subpixel to the standard red, green and blue, giving AQUOS Quattron televisions 33% more subpixels than a standard HDTV, for a total of 8 million subpixels. The AQUOS Quattron panel is brighter by design and uses less power than a conventional 1080p

240Hz Refresh Rate

See sharper, more electrifying action with the most advanced panel refresh rates available today. 240Hz technology delivers crystal clear images, even during fast-motion scenes

Has anyone heard whether these sets support things like 4K Netflix streaming that is coming down the road (HEVC/H265 codec)?

The site is  confusing. So many pictures with the Q+ set for sale show the wrong stand (?) but have the dude with the blue background. Not sure if you are getting the Q+ or just the Q.
Do not go by the picture, go by the model number. You know off of Sharps sight what the right model is compared to the picture.

I was looking around for early comments/reviews on the LC-70SQ15U and I'm getting confused...some people are saying it's not a "real" 4K set but I haven't been able to find anyone elaborating on what is meant by that. It is strange that the TV is marketed with "1080p" in the product headline, but then the description will say it can play 4K content. What's the deal? Are they downsampling 4K content to 1080p?

It is not a 4K set as the native resolution of the display is 1080P. They are playing with sub pixels and claiming "enhanced" resolution. The set will accept 4K 30HZ input but is displaying the enhanced 1080P. Look up the set at paulstv and read all about it there

It is not a true 4K as noted. I was told by reps at CES that the resolution for 4K up and down is there, then it alters the picture side ways to somehow get the resolution for an "enhanced" 4K picture. I will say, at CES they looked real good.......

I tried Titanfall last night on an Xbox One and it was pretty good. I'll try to get lag measurements over the weekend.

Nice. If you could get lag info that would be great also if you have Battlefield 4 maybe you can put some pics of that up....Thanks again

Cleveland this set is a Q+ series you might want to add that in your title line. Looks like you just have Q series in the title.
