Okay, if I may be so presumptuous, allow me to start this discussion on the best DVD player software available for HTPCs. You read many bits here and there about this, with many nods going to TheaterTek or PowerDVD and a few to WinDVD and NVDVD, among others. But it would be nice to have one discussion that deals with this (the forum search engine yielded little in this regard).

So, especially for those of you who have had opportunity to sample/demo/use various DVD player packages, please share your favorite application and tell us why, dealing at least with these areas:

- Functions the others didn't have or didn't implement well.

- Ease of use (e.g., user interface).

- Picture Quality

- Reliability (bugs, crashes, etc., or the lack thereof)

Why don't you just use the search function?.

This topic has been covered ad nauseum, and very well too in some recent previous threads.

midi-guy--I did use the "search" function. I am not very impressed with the "function." It doesn't return much. My apologies for the nauseum.

The problem with this is that software updates come out for these players and the display devices that can drastically change one or more of the outlook of the criteria that was posted above.
