As hot as this TV is becoming, I am proud to say I am an owner of the Vizio XVT553SV. This thread is my hope to get all we can out of this TV! I will be posting my settings even though they are just tweaked settings from HTGuys!

Calibration Settings:

Picture Mode - Move

Backlight - 15

Brightness - 51

Contrast - 49

Color - 47

Tint - 0

Sharpness - 3

Color Temperature - Normal

Red Gain - 125

Green Gain - 128

Blue Gain - 120

Red Offset - 123

Green Offset - 128

Blue Offset - 125

Smooth Motion Effect - off

Real Cinema - off

Noise Reduction - off

Color Enhancement - off

Adaptive Luma - off

Film Mode - Auto

Smart Dimming On

Ambient Light Sensor - off


Most of the time I turn NR to LOW for Comcast Cable

This tv is fantastic! regards

I've tried these settings and left a post on other thread...people are saying CNet is better fit on settings..but when a plug in they look a lttle dark and don't pop...then compare with vivd or custom preset...looks very dull ..I too would like to see some variuos settings..

I 100% agree! Is it just Us ? I like standard mode factory settings and also football mode! I use a calibration disc and movie mode still looks dull! I would love to see what others find on the set! regards
