I finally got all my new toys in today and I some how completely forgot to think about where my surrounds were going to be placed. I got Polk monitor 30 for my surrounds. I considered just putting them on the side walls facing each other but I would really like to put them in the corners facing the couch. Do you think that would affect the sound a great deal. I attached a drawing of my room for visual. The couch is red and the speakers are yellow.

Could work, not perfectly ideal, but could work. Try it out, see if that right surround can blend in properly, and if it sounds decent. If your receiver has distance/delay settings, I'd strongly suggest looking into those (ideally they will be independent from one another).
