I have gotten to try a bunch of resolutions on my radeon VE (not it's strength, I know).


I have settled on the following for DVD playback to keep things simple:


800 x 600 for Full screen and 1:85 to 1 DVD material


1024 x 600 for 2:35 to 1 (enhanced for widescreen anamorphic DVD)


Higher resolutions that I have tried seem unresolvabe due to colors going out of registration.I cannot get left and right sides registered using the simple line adjustment that you can do without going into the service menu.


What can I do? Is it worth exploring the higher rez's? Have to get colors aligned at higher rez's somehow!

I'm currently running my 1270 at 1280 x 720 @48Hz and it looks great. The 720p is a little above the resolving power of the PJ but it looks great. I can see scan lines at 1184 x 666 @48 Hz in all corners, it just takes alot of work.


Color alignment: do you mean you cant get the centers of the crosshairs to match up? You can use the center point in the point convergence which will give you a greater range of adjustment. Having a good mechanical setup is very important too.
