A month ago on my HTPC, suddenly in the middle of a dvd, the sound suddenly became very choppy. Totally unacceptable.

Anyway after trying everything possible under the sun, I replaced my VIA chipset based MB with an intel one.

After some fun getting the machine working again I cranked up the ol' DVD players. Here are the results:

PowerDVD: Audio does not chop unless you are using the mouse. Sounds different than it did before though. If you use the mouse at all, it seems like something is gunking up the system. It also seemed like the video was jerky too.

WinDVD: No problems at all. Everything seems fine.

ATI Player: Choppy sound no matter what you do.

I am using SPDIF out through my MAudio 2496. Does anybody have any clue as to what could be going on?

Thx,

Cameron

One other thing...

2 Channel sound from Siren or WinAMP work perfectly through the Digital out in this setup too.
