OK, I am looking for a 5.1 receiver

Needs 2 HDMI inputs (one a PS3, the other Time Warner HD cable box)

Want to be able to use three HDMI cables only, one from each source, those into the receiver, then one from the receiver to the TV

Is this possible?

What models should I be looking at?

New or used is fine with me, I'm on a budget, so try to keep the price under $400 if possible, obviously the lower the price the better.

Thanks guys!

The Onkyo 507 refurb, shoponkyo(dot)com, would be a great choice. It is THIS years model. I bought my 805 this way and the unit looked brand new. Make sure you sign up to get the best price (It's free).

You will also need power and speaker cables, but otherwise YES you can just use 3 HDMI cables.

monoprice.com has HDMI cables for a good price. Don't buy a fancy HDMI cable. The signal is digital so a fancy cable generally has no benefit -- if the cable works, it works. Be aware that local shops generally want at least $10, $20, or even $30 for basic HDMI cables. They are less than $5 online.
