is there any reason why a projector that outputs 720p,480p,1080i(and many others) will not display images when fed via xbox(720p)

i have confirmed the xbox works on an hdtv720p,and confirmed that the projector displays movies in 480p via xbox. but when playing a game

even in 480p==projector just says no signal.

short of detailed troubleshooting(which i've already done and don't want to type it all out) is there just some kind of inherent incompatability of certain signals with certain projectors even though the projector says it supports all resolutions?(projector model that i have is the epson powerlite 7350)

does anyone want to take a crack at this?

The dashboard of the Xbox is 480i. Your projector may not support this through the component input. Try connecting the xbox via analog cables...if it works then it is probably either what shadowpuppet mentioned or what I mentioned. That's my best guess...it's friday...my head hurts...that's all I got! Good luck!

yes i checked all that stuff but still no signal.

this projector just doesn't like the xbox and games in 720p.

could it be some factory setting that needs to be adjusted?

If my memory's correct, the XBOX does not output 720p. No, scratch that, it does support 720p. Anyway, I have one hooked up to my CRT projector through a transcoder and it works fine. How are you connecting your XBOX to the pj? I looked at the manual (thanks to shadowpuppet) and in order to get a component signal to your projector, you need a BNC cable. This might be a dumb question but did you set the XBOX to output 480p in the dashboard?
