Old DirecTV equipment still worth anything?

549 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  HDTVFanAtic
I apologize if this is an old topic, but a few searches didn't lead to anything.

I used to be a DirecTV subscriber before I moved to Toronto a few years ago. I had an elliptical dish with 2 lnbs. My receivers were a Panasonic TU-HDS20 for HDTV and a small RCA one (420 or something like that) for my ReplayTV.

Only recently when I finally into a house in the US recently did I revisit the idea of getting sat HD (specifically D*) again. However, I noticed that D* is moving to new receivers and a new format. Plus, I noticed the complaints about the quality.

Is my old equipment still worth anything if I tried to sell them? What should I do with them?

If anyone can find a topic that discusses it, I would appreciate a link.

Define anything? Of course its worth something. Check the bay auction site (you cannot post variations of that url of the forum software kills it www.********* you see :D ) and see what recent purchases have netted.

That you have a 2 lnb dish, that is REALLY outdated for HD. A 3 lnb unit is really needed and the newer units are the 5 orbit position AT-9s.

You will probably get $20 - $30 or so for each of the parts.
Yes, it was a long time ago that I had it. I think the 3rd lnb was starting to be offered, but I had to purchase it and I didn't need the channels it offered.

I'll check the bay site, but it's hard to find my model. I think once I checked and it had (at the time) a bid of $30.

Well, you aren't going to get rich on it.

Just put it starting at $20 and see what you get, lol.
