I will give this a chance if the reviews end up being good or even mixed, but I have to admit this trailer and the premise made me laugh pretty hard.

reviews are not good...

a more positive review...4/5 stars...I've read in multiple places that the twist ending is pretty cool...that alone males me want to check the movie out...

Of course, there is the famous Shyamalan twist ending here...instead of ending the movie a minute or so after the twist is revealed, the film goes on to explain more for quite a bit, which is entirely different than the rest of his films...this is because this surprise reveal has more layers of depth than meets the eye and is one of his most ambitious twist endings to date...performances are solid as Thomasin McKenzie and Embeth Davidtz, along with the rest of the cast stick with the Shyamalan method of subdued, and "less is more" in the acting range...it works to great effect here as each character is an emotional wreck throughout the movie...

I was very much looking forward to watching this after enjoying The Visit, but it unfortunately did not impress. One of Shyamalan’s weakest offerings imo. The “rules” of the island are laughable, the acting is stiff, and the story could have been told just as well in 45 minutes.

with Shyamalan's movies it seems like the 'twist' always makes or breaks his movies...

The Visit was good regardless of the twist. In Old, the twist is a lame attempt at NOT explaining how this magical island exists in reality.

Watched this over the weekend. Boy you were right, this is his weakest one for sure. The acing in this is just absolutely horrible, from like every single person. So tired of his stupid filming style too that he over uses with the weird camera angles and the slow pan back and forth.

Was really looking forward to this, complete let down.

This was dreadful. Normally I'd tap out half way through and hit up iTunes for a refund but I wanted to see what the "twist" was. So bad...
