A friend of mine is having an issue with his old Panasonic dvd player. He recently rented Star Wars: EP IV (newly released), and it came up as an unrecognized format on his dvd player. He can watch it on the dvd player his computer, but his dvd player attached to his tv will not read it.
He took the DVD back to Blockbuster and got a replacement, but had the same issue. I don't have the model number of the player.
Was EPIV mastered in a way that was different than other movies? Any idea why this is happening? My friend has never had this issue with any other dvds.
