Hey all,

I have a 5040 that has been upgraded with a 250mb Seagate drive that crashed on me today. By crashed I mean that the picture froze during the play back of a show and I couldn't get it to do anything else. So, I did a soft re-boot and it did turn off, and the blue light came back on, but it never did actually turn on.

So, I did another soft re-boot and while I was holding down the power button I unplugged it.....then back in.

It did come back up but it is asking me to go through the qucik set up.

Before I do the quick set up, I am wondering what I should do first. Should I try and use RTV Extract to get all the shows off first, or should I do the qucik set up? I am not sure if anything in the qucik set up will "delete" any of my shows that may still be on that Replay.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Wow, this is happening more and more lately. I'm really curious what the cause is... No one seems to come back reporting dying drives.
