I have been trying to get my DSM520 by Dlink to work with either Tversity or Playon.

Went through many support forms for Playon. The problem is, the 520 gives a "disconnected from default server" message after 15-20 minutes of playtime, using the Playon server. Playon support says it is the DSM520 doing the disconnecting, so they can't help. Help?

Tversity has it's own problems, the video is jerky.

The PC is a Intel Core Duo 2.66ghz with 4gb memory. Bandwidth issues seem to be fine. Windows Vista 32 bit.

The Dlink server software works fine.

I can use my Synology DS108J no problem.

I have a new i7 machine with win vista 64 which does the same thing, or worse.

ANY suggestions would be appreciated. I mainly want Playon for CBS and Hulu. I get Amazon and Nexflix flawlessly on my Roku box.

I have a DSM520 and have been trying to get PlayOn to work properly with it since the very first version of PlayOn was released. I have the same problem you describe - although sometimes I may get more than 20 min, I never get an entire selection to play through to the end. It's a maddening catch-22 because PlayOn says the 520 is at fault and D-Link won't even look into issues concerning software they don't distribute!

I can say that PlayOn doesn't do this with all devices because I have a VuNow pod which doesn't have any problems with PlayOn at all. The 520 is still useful to me because it's the only device I have which will stream DRM content. I had some hope that maybe newer 520 firmware might be more PlayOn friendly - but D-Link hasn't released any firmware updates for quite a while. So, unless something (that the 520 is sensitive to) changes in future PlayOn versions, this issue will likely go unresolved.
