local dealer has older Jolida tube amp reconditioned with new tubes for the same price as the Jolida JD-1701RC hybrid amp. Can't audition the new amp. Remote/no remote makes no difference to me. Older amp looks cooler.

Like the idea of supporting the local guy. Also came across someones comment about tubes being too laid back, especially as you get older, and that solid state edge can help.
Pairing them with the Era D5 speakers.
