I have been on a kick watching movies that were originally mono, that have really immerisive 5.1 remixes on DVD. The Older James Bonds, The Nightmare on Elm Streets are awesome for this.. Das Boot, Terminator. Can I have some other suggestions?

Thanks!

The gunshots don't sound as loud now as the tanker truck explosion at the end, what were they thinking. Of course the new re-recording of Brad Fidel's music in stereo/surround, and some newly created surround effects counts for nothing, since the handguns of Arnie doesn't sound like cannons, yeah definitelly the worst mix ever.

Watched this a couple of weeks back with 5.1 LPCM on the BD.

It is definitely better and more immersive than the dvd, but not as good as a recent movie (i.e. The Departed).

Well, it just bothers me that it seems they chose a sound effect that doesn't even match the gun he uses. When he shot the other Sara at the front door it takes me out of the movie knowing how that particular gun should sound. Obviously, it isn't suppose to sound like a pea shooter. I guess for those that don't go to a firing range it wouldn't matter since they wouldn't know the difference. If your going to do a remix at least do it all right and not half assed; which I guess doesn't bother you.

Well sure it does, however I like to judge a project based the complete work not one piece of sound element. You just like to nitpick.

Yes, I do.

Besides, the weapons were an integral part of the movie and they didn't bother to check the sound effect they used was actually correct. To me that's just plain lazy.
