Hi,

I'm trying to set up a 'bang for the buck' system for my bedroom. See post for further explanation - http://www.avsforum.com/forum/91-au...1908601-bang-buck-android-phone-streamer.html My goal is to set up a nice quality audio system that can change front ends as the audio streaming improves in quality. I envision phone audio streaming advancing to being nearly 'loss-less' from a digital perspective over the next couple years. Either BT, wireless, or USB, somehow it will get there.

From a receiver/amp perspective I've been poking through ebay to see what was available. Ballpark budget $150-200 maximum. Like to get away for $100 if I can.

Torn between integrated amp and receiver. I can get almost all the audio input I want from my phone, so an integrated amp ought to do it. Seems most are very pricey. The alternative, say a 5.1 receiver, you can get some great stuff pretty cheap. But it seems to be kind of sub-optimal to buy all the extra channels when the most I envision is 2 plus a sub. And I don't really need the video at all. Tuner would be somewhat nice, but I can just was well stream the radio channels I listen to. HDMI in might be nice just for flexibility. Sub-out would be nice so I can do the split in the receiver/amp. Remote would be nice, but I could adjust volume from the phone if sending analog ...

My wish might be something like the Marantz PM6005. Are there any older units with similar specs that would have dropped off in price into my budget range?

A couple items I've seen:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/271797896670?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT no digital inputs

http://www.ebay.com/itm/321684706979?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT nice unit but a lot of stuff I'll never need

They'll be driving a nicer set of bookshelves, something like an older set of B&Ws, will add a sub if needed once I hear the speakers in action.

Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions.

Jeff
