I was browsing at barco's website and found that they make 12 inch CRT projectors. I did not know anyone made CRT pjs with guns bigger than 9".

tubes are expensive as hell Well in excess of $10k each


BTW, stay well clear of the 812's if you want better PQ than say a 909 or cine9.


The 812 is based on the old chassis. The 912 is based on the 909 chassis though, and is thus much more capable.

It's funny, I've never seen a 12" Barco, yet there are forum members that are picky and wouldn't take an 'older' 12" set. Must be nice!

There have been threads on the 12" units in the past from people that have seen them. Long story short: If money is not object, then you're better off with some of their high end 9" machines (like the Cine 9 and it's variants) as they're sharper. The only thing the 12" machine has going for it is light output (lumens). Everything else is better on the other units.

At first I wanted these, if for no other reason than because of the value of the tubes. Later, I realized that there would be little demand and was glad that I was outbid at the $7600 price at the last minute
