A lot of people have asked, so here you go. It may be slow to load as the server I used is tempemental. I placed a level on top of the set, extended the arm out all the way and turned the screen perpendicular to the wall to measure sag. As the screen is still perfectly level in this configuration, I guess this shows that there is no sag. People also asked about resistance. Tilting it left and right is relatively easy, but there is still enough resistance so that even if you have a lot of stiff cables back there it should stay where you leave it. There is more resistance in the forward / back movement. You can easily pull it forward with one hand, but I find using 2 is easier for moving it back against the wall. For those curious, the wire going up to the top is to an IR eye, as my components are in the closet.

Hey 90c4:

Just want to thank you for the pics. The Omnimount looks GREAT and I am glad that I got it... will be installing mine this weekend...

Any tips on how to get the thing levelled? I am a newbie at this... I also got the tips on having the hole in the middle of the base plate... thanks for the info.

Great pictures.

When I was researching mounts, the Omni Mount was almost half the price of the Peerless or Chief articulating mounts. I was just curious if this lower price came at the expense of quality.

Do you feel there is any significant differences?

Also where did you buy the Omni Mount?

Thanks

I think Omnimount comes from selling LCD mounts and is more into volume and such. Those other companies are more in the installer community as opposed to retail and can charge what they charge.

I like Peerless and Chief personally, but would not frown on Omnimount at all.

Sorry it took so long to get back. I'm very pleased with the fit and finish of the omnimount - they didn't cut any corners. I got mine from avstreet.com for $300 shipped, including the universal mount.

I would get some spiral-wrap (Panduit makes some) or split tubing (like what is used in wiring harnesses in cars) to dress up those cables a bit (and help protect them from getting rubbed and/or pinched).
