not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes.

is the On Site Three Year Extended Warranty worth it ?

i bought them both on my Pioneer PDP-5070HD and my Samsung LN-S4095D.

both were the Mack On Site Three Year Extended Warranty Certificate , but i've never had to use them. the tv's are 2 years old and hopefully i won't need them.

i am looking at 46-52" lcd's and was wondering if i should buy it again. looks like they are about $110- 150 at where i usually buy on line.

Yes. Compared to how much 46"-52" costs in comparison to at least having some type of protection, I believe its worth it.

Chris

of course you do -- you sell them.

nothing wrong with that.

but i think you, and one or two other independent online dealers who are sponsors here ought to post the disclaimer that you have a vested interest in extended warranties because you sell extended warranties. such a notice when you chime in on threads like this (and at least two of you do consistently because you want the business i assume), would make more clear your interest, imo.

I believe there is nothing wrong with this. Everyone has their own opinion, as about 75% PDP and LCD forum purchase extended warranties. We want to help people give them accurate information and not to mislead people into thinking that EW companies are perfect. I believe its not what you say, but how you explain it. That makes a huge difference. Couple that with the relationship with Mack or CPS then it makes the consumer feel more confident.

By the looks of things, it looks like you have been following the thread quite often...

Since you can double the mfg warranty with a credit card purchase and CR says their repair surveys say no and since the extended warranty is not from the manufacturer, I would say NO in capitals.
