I am stuck between two receivers. The Onkyo tx-sr875 and the tx-sr805. I was hoping some of you would have experience with one of both of these models and could tell me if the 300-400 price difference would be worth going for the 875. Thanks you
From what I researched, it really comes down to whether you need the video processing capabilites of the Reon processor in the 875, 10 extra watts output, and additional HDMI input.
In my case I already have the Reon processor built into my Toshiba XA2, only needed 3 HDMI's, and didn't need any additional power so I personally decided to go with the 805 and pass the video through untouched to my display. It didn't hurt that the unit was only $700 through Amazon either.
I've only had my 805 for a couple of days and besides the heat this thing creates, solved by using cooling plate, I'm very satisfied with the performance and features. This unit replaced a 6-month old Denon 2807.
