Hi all!

I've had a Onkyo 606 for a while now and is really happy with, until yesterday I've been using a 7.0 system with mixted rougly ten year old speakers which are really quite good.

However, yesterday I was at my local AV dealer and impulse bought a Velodyne cht-8q sub.

My question is:

With it I got a setup mic for room calibration and so on. Which in your opinion is the best way to set the system up assuming you'd want to use Onkyo's audyssey setup capabilities?

Would you use the microphone on the subwoofer first and then run audyssey or skip the subwoofer setup mic and just use onkyo's setup mic right away?

I'm still fairly new to this and the whole thing is a bit confusing to me.

grateful for answers!

Run the Subwoofer's mic first. After that is done run Audyssey. The Audyssey 2EQ program doesn't have any filters for Subwoofers so it will only level the loudness of it. You may still want to bump up the Subs output afterwards as many here like to run the Sub a little hot. Really comes down to preference.
