Curious on audio.. for anyone with the Onkyo 606 receiver...

Curious what your average listening volumes tend to be..

In the case of the 4870 card and PCM audio from my HTPC:

Mine recently seem higher for some reason (i dont remember them being this high, worried something may be damaged)... around 50 or so (with Get smart, i also note that the info says ac3 64kbps)..

With the xbox 360 and an optical cable.. a normal listening volume is around 37 for most things (not too loud, just about right i'd say)..

With a digital comcast station, dolby plIIX, its around 39;

On an HD station on comcast dolby D EX, it is around 44-50;

My speakers are the ones that come with the onkyo hts780 htib set, so this answer may vary. I also sit about 17 feet back from the main center speaker.. room dimensions are about 18 foot by 14.5 or so.

Thanks

What resolution are you running the PCM from the HTPC at? Higher rez audio often has lower levels.

I'm not sure what res it is coming out at.. i'm guessing 192K at the most, but not alot of bluray content is 192k per say..

Its set to accept anything up to and including 192k (or output rather).
