Quick advice needed

I have the option to get the 818 brand new. I also have be option to get then1010 - unopened in box but bought 2 months ago for just 100$ more.

I have a 16x15 room and only 1 sub. I don't have a second room connection either.

For getting the next model, I will give up 2.5 months of warranty - onkyo service will process based on photocopy of invoice. Checked this.

What would you recommend - 818 with 1 year warranty or 1010 with 9.5m warranty for just 100$ more?

Onkyo's warranty is 2 yrs. Losing 2 months of that wouldn't bother me.

Based on your options, I'd go with the 1010. But the 818 can be purchased for $700 so I'm assuming the prices you'd be paying are around that.

I am between the 2 myself, though the power spec are close to the same the 1010 is the same as an older Denon 5700 I have, and it does a good job of powering my system. It just doesn't have HDMI or room correction of any kind. I have a pioneer sc27 but I really don't like it that much. I use it on a smaller system powering a couple of towers and some rear surrounds.
