Ok, I'm stumped! Can I or can I not combine HDMI inputs and component inputs? My receiver is hooked up to my TV via component input because I have an older mits TV with the one input cabable of passing 1080i. As I stand now, I can only get my component inputs to work. What am I doing wrong? What is the best way to set up the below equipment?

Explorer 8300HD cable box(HDMI output)

Toshiba HD-A1(HDMI output)

Samsung DTB-H260F HDTV Decodor box(HDMI output)

You cannot combine HDMI inputs with component output. Connect them all with component for video. For the decoder box and cable box, use SPDIF for audio. For the HD-A1, use HDMI for audio, if the A1 supports both HDMI and component out at the same time. Otherwise use SPDIF for that too.

I guess I'm stuck with only 3 inputs until I upgrade my TV. How do I know what resolution the receiver is outputting?
