Onkyo announces ES upgrade

vaporware... release expected q1 2001! good nevertheless if you own one of their 3 new products.

I've recently had the pleasure, or should I say displeasure of listening to the big Onk at a friends house.

Poor guy jumped the gun and sold his 5700 for the Onk. Anyway I managed to persuede him not to jump from his third floor apartment after the 5800 was announced.

In my (humble) opinion this machine sounds (at best) second rate, and at worst, due to the fan noise, like it will take off to London Heatrow Airport. My friend is hoping the later.
