Morning all.

I have a quick question regarding sound processing with an older 6.1 unit. Onkyo HT-S760 HTIB (Receiver model HT-R510)

System Specs:
6-channel amplifier
100 watts per channel min. RMS at 8 Ω,
2 channels driven from 20 Hz to 20 kHz
0.08% total harmonic distortion

24-bit DSP chip (5 DSP soundfields)
Linear PCM 96 kHz/24-bit D/A converters on all channels
Adjustable crossover (60, 80, 100, 120, 150 Hz)

3 assignable digital inputs (2 optical, 1 coaxial)

Dolby*1 Digital EX and Dolby Pro Logic II
DTS, DTS-ES Matrix/Discrete 6.1, and DTS Neo:6 pro

The Question:

Will external sources (BD player, Xbox, etc) transfer a 7.1 audio source, via optical/coax, to the receiver?
Are there any settings (on the AVR / source) that i should be aware of, or change?
Will the receiver automatically recognize and process the signal to the proper channels?
Will the receiver display a different format on the readout display (ie: DTS-ES Matrix, Dolby, etc)

I know its an old system, i recently picked up the entire HTIB from a local goodwill. all 6 channels and sub were in pristine condition.
no scratches or signs of wear. got it all for 50 bucks. Plus 3 MartinLogan speakers (Motion 4's and Motion C) for 20 bucks. Also in mint condition.

I'm pretty new with all the AVR info.. still learning the basics as i go. any help would be much appreciated! This forum has been a great wealth of knowledge!
