Hey guys,

I have had the Onkyo HT-SR600 Component Home Theater Audio System since October 2007. About a month or two ago, I noticed that, for whatever reason, the volume turns up by itself... randomly. It's VERY STRANGE. I'll put it on mute or something and all of a sudden the volume turns on (up). Or I will turn the volume down and go out somewhere, come back to find out that it is blaring loud and annoying the hell out of the neighbors. Or I will be playing Xbox 360 and all of a sudden I realize that I can't hear anything. It's just ridiculous.

There are no remotes even near it that could be doing it... I'm guessing it's just gone faulty and that's that. Probably need a new one. Has anyone ever heard of something like this? I really liked the Onkyo brand until this happened. (A pretty big defect if you ask me.)

If you bought that system brand new and not refurbished, it has a 2 year warranty. Send the thing in for repair! You got 3 months left on your warranty.

If its out of warranty, then its time for a new receiver. A replacement refurb TX-SR304 is only $120. But you'd want something better than that if you're gonna upgrade.
