So yeah, the provided codes to control Panasonic DVD players via the HT-S790 remote are helpless against my Panasonic DVD-F85! I've tried them all several times, both the DVD and TV codes. Nothing takes! All other units in my system have succumbed to the new remote...but not this Panasonic!


And a look at the Onkyo site came up with nothing. And not even a number or email for basic tech support. Just a number for obtaining service for the unit.


Anyone got anything I should try?

I think there's something about Panasonic DVD players that Onkyo remotes don't like.

Seriously, I gave up trying to get my Panasonic changer to work with my 790 remote. Granted, it's an older model, but the remote works with my Panasonic VCR of the same vintage.


There's just some components that universal remotes don't have codes for. Not much you can do short of a learning remote or something.

you can get the One for All URC 8910 Universal Remote from amazon which is a learning remote which would solve all your compatability problems for around $20. Best remote I've found < $50 great deal.
