I'm looking to buy some speakers. I already have a 7.1 receiver. I will use it for movies and music. The two I am looking at right now are Onkyo SKS-HT540 (7.1) and Boston Acoustics CS2310 (5.1). I don't want to spend a crazy amount of money. Does anyone know which will sound better? I know one has 2 extra speakers but I can always get two more later if I feel like I need them. Assuming I can get them for about the same price, which one should I get? The onkyo one has gotten really good reviews but is that just because it is usually priced very low and compared to cheaper sets?

A buddy of mine in Memphis had the same choice you did. He had the opportunity to test the Onkyos, but decided to go with the Boston Acoustics blindly after listening to the Onkyos. He's very happy with his choice. More oomph, better midrange.
