Onkyo SR674 - HDCP Question

285 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  egcarter
Hi all,

I'm a bit new to the HT world and planning to build a new system for myself...

Thus far I've planned (but yet to purchase) the following:

TV: Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U

A/V: Onkyo SR674

DVD: Oppo DV-970HD

Speakers: Orb Audio People's Choice 5.1

Surge: APC H10

Cable: Comcast HD w/ HDDVR (New Jersey)

I plan to run the Oppo and the Comcast Digital Cable into the A/V via HDMI and HDMI to the TV. Everything else (old VCR, PS, Camcorder) will be hooked up to AV using the best possible connection supported by each respective device.

In reading the SR674 manual online I notice the following statement:

"The AV receiver uses HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), so only HDCP-compatible components can display the picture."

I am going to experience a problem with any of the components I have planned to setup due to the above statement with regard to HDCP?

Thanks in advance...Chris
