It sounds like the electrostatic discharge zapped your rom. However, it seems like your receiver is trying to recover. You could try downloading the latest firmware to a usb thumb drive and restoring it.

To RESET the AV receiver to its factory defaults, noted on page 54 of its Operation Manual,
Turn it ON and, while holding down VCR/DVR, press ON/STANDBY. “Clear” will appear on the AV receiver’s display and the AV receiver will enter standby mode.
Note that this erases station presets and surround mode settings so U will need to re-enter these.

No dice. As soon as I plug in the power cord the screen shows "FW update". I can't power the unit off with the power button and the reset procedure does nothing.Here U go...
