After reading the User Manual, I see that once you attach headphones, output to the speakers is cut-off.

Does anyone know of a workaround or any advise at all on how to get BOTH at the same time?


I'm looking to buy Wireless Headphones for me (I need a little audio help) while my Wife can still hear the normal output from the speakers.


Our Audio Inputs are from a ReplayTV (5040) and an Oppo DVD player (971H).


Any help greatly appreciated!

Maybe a preamp out from your reciever can drive a wireless headphone transmitter.

I'm not suggesting buying anything other than a > $10 headphone-rca adaptor. What reciever do you have or are your replay and dvd player audio plugged right into the tv?

Doh' I missed the the reciever model in the title. A few of the wireless headphone sets I've checked say they can be used with pre-outs so the poster's solution below of using the tape out's of the reciever will work fine.

You can use the tape-outs on the reciever (if it has them) into either a cheap headphone amp, or a wireless headphone box thing. That doesn't turn the speakers off.
