i am considering unpgrading my onkyo 876 to a onkyo 1010.....the 876 runs well but i am sure newer model should be even better.

i am running klipsch v2 as front and surround, klipsch sub and two bose v201 for the 7th guy. also running a klipsch w24 center.

any thoughts on upgrade........am also considering upgrading speakers too.

I would think twice about Onkyo... They have been having a lot of reliability issues the past few years...

They've made some good designs and some issue prone designs.  I've got an 876 as well and had a 504 for 5 years.  Both have been excellent buys.  The 876 has a more robust amp section than the 1010, but as long as you route the heavy lifting LFE to the sub, I doubt you will notice a difference.  The Onkyos used to run hot, but current stuff runs much cooler which is a help to the HDMI board, a weakness in older designs than the 1010.

If you don't mind a model that's no longer current, the 818 is pretty unbeatable for the money at Amazon among other places.
