I've got an old (10 years) Technics SA-AX910 HT Receiver driving the sound from this Panasonic RV32 player. I know there's something wrong with the receiver, but it's such an odd symptom that I wonder if it's also the RV32. Playing normal commercial DVDs, the sound will suddenly stop. Most often I can bring it back by pushing the Technics volume way up (then back down of course). Occasionally I have to reset the power on the Technics to regain sound.

The odd thing, though, is that this sound cutout Never happens on audio CDs, the tuner, tape deck, or turntable. Only on the DVD player . Are DVD players more sensitive somehow than other devices hooked to a receiver? Or is this a known problem with an RV32?
