Opinions - Best high-gain fixed frame screen?

Hello everyone.

TL;DR: Best fixed frame high-gain projector screen at a reasonable price?

I'm going to be moving in to a small-ish place that isn't really set up well for a projector. Basically, I'm going to need to put my screen on the same wall as the fireplace / mantle, and the mantle sticks out about 4 or 5 inches from the wall, making hanging a non-rigid screen that goes below it a little on the ridiculous side, since it would need to be hung away from the wall.

So a rigid screen is my next best option.

Since I'm going to be buying something, I want to make sure I'm getting an upgrade from my matte-white pull down screen. The research I've done has a lot of variance in the amount of "gain" a screen offers, but so far my benchmark is 1.8.

So my questions are:

- Is 1.8 a reasonable amount of gain?
- Is the 6.0 gain in this listing: www techedu com/Vutec_SilverStar.asp?Source=googleshopping&gclid=CMXJ7PibjcQCFU-Tfgod7oAASQ really accurate?
- What are your opinions on the best high-gain fixed frame rigid projection screen for a "reasonable" price?

Thanks in advance everyone!
