Got it just like you 'cuz of the price and amazing reviews.
It's all true. The need some time to break in -like any speaker will, but they're tremendously open and have great imaging.
Very slick design from the asymetrical cabinet, to no x-over on the bass cone, to slick no-noise port.
The metal dome tweeter might be a little revealing for electronics that aren't quite up to the level of this speaker so you may find it a little bright.
I'd suggest the Diva line instead, but I don't think the Axioms themselves are bright or harsh speakers. They're worthly of good value priced higher end electronics (which cost much more than the speakers!)
My main speakers are Newform Research. VERY diff. design, and 10X the price.
The Axioms are NOT as good, but they are close enough to be pretty scary.
You might look into the larger M22ti with dual 5 1/4" drivers instead of the single 6 1/2" of the M3ti.
I think those would be a much better choice for only a little more. More power handling and the dual 5 1/4" should have less distortion and be even faster and more open than the 6 1/2".
