I am in the market for a 65 inch HDTV.

I have been considering two models (both are about $3,400).

1) The Mitsubushi WS-65611 (Platinum line).

The nice thing about this TV is that is has a integrated tuner,

so I would not need to pick up a seperate one.

The local sountrack store had it running on a high definition sample

and the picture quality was very nice.

One thing that worries me a bit is that it does not have a DVI port.

The Mitsubushi supports IEEE 1394. (Does anyone think that soon

there will be high definition DVD players on the market that will

connect through IEEE 1394?)

2) The Hitachi 65SWX20B.

I have not seen this TV in person, however the reviews done on the

model have been very good.

This TV does have a DVI port with HDCP copy right protection.

This is nice as I could use the upcoming Samsung HD931 and get true

high definition quality on my DVDs. (As of now I have a Panasonic

DVD-RP62k with the Faroudja chip).

However this TV does not have an intergrated HDTV tuner and I would

need to buy a seperate one.

So please if anyone has a opinion or information on which TV is the better choice, please fill me in (I am new to the HDTV market).

Thanks,

Jeff

Even though I have a Mitsubishi (and love it), I would recommend buying a TV with a DVI/HDCP input.

I would recommend you get the 61 inch DLP from samsung. The HLN617W. The cost is only a little more but it will well worth it. So I would highly recomend you spend a few more dollars and get the HLN617W.
