So Sony Tech Support says the XBR65x900A only passes Dolby Digital thru the Televisions optical outlet. Not DTS. I did verify that by playing a DTS source thru HDMI into the 65x900a and using the optical  to my Audio System. All I got was Stereo. My Sony BDP 6200 does have Coax out and that works direct to the Audio System for DTS. I'm sure everyone knows this on this blog, but I couldn't read all those pages. Sony Tech said (from the Philipines) they don't have any knowledge if Sony will make the upgrade. Wonder if the 900B will pass DTS thru the optical out?

I have one cable, HDMI going from my receiver to the tv and an optical back from the tv to the receiver. Two cables but it's still neat. The optical back is just for OTA 5.1 audio. The tv speakers are always kept off. The rest of my devices are connected to the receiver via HDMI. Even if you have ARC, the best you can do is 5.1 like optical.
