optical vs hdmi

what better for pcm 2 channel? Optical or hmi. i might need a audio extractor /switch in my setup

The easier/less expensive for your audio need(s).
Seems that optical is best at first glance/guess.

There's probably no difference between the two for that purpose, so do whatever is the least PitA.

stero to mono

I wanta all my sound in 1 channel . I know this will work for analog line in /rca but what about digital single that are hmdi feeling going to audio extractor then out of toss- link/optical?
