It could be the Optoma's have weak batteries, external lights messing with the sync or your projector isn't set bright enough to keep the link just some ideas as I own the 3d-xl and the Optoma hd66 projector with Optoma and Xpand glasses and have never had this problem. Are you sure your in 3d mode and DLP-link is turned on in the settings for the glasses to sync?

Update

Put brand new batteries in glasses. Room is a totally dark theatre room no windows or stray lights. Tried turning the brightness up on projector and still same thing. Glasses link up for around ten seconds and then loose sync. Please help with any more suggestions.

is Dlp-link turned on in menu? is your projector saying the signal is 120hz in the info? How far away is your seating? it can effect the sync because it depends on how many lumens your projector is as how far it will sync. I know my Optoma's start to lose sync at about 18ft with my hd66 and my xpands I can go into another room and they will keep sync and the Optoma's will lose sync. Also a white matte screen will yield the best and farthest sync results

If the glasses sync up for 10 seconds and you can see 3d during that time and your within range you might have a defective pair of glasses.

That's what I was thinking.. i actually have the optima rf emitter and ref glasses on order.... I have a huge room and like the idea of not loosing sync when looking away from screen

The Optoma RF glasses are nice especially if you have a big room and your seating is far from the screen however it just depends on the setup with my glasses I can turn my head sideways look around and they always keep sync, but I only have a small 15 x 15 room.
